1.3.9 MR

Updated 8/28/2026

The MR app runs a Mendelian randomisation (MR) analysis using an uploaded input file.

Use this app when you have prepared MR-ready data and want to run the configured MR workflow within Sequoia.

Before you begin

Prepare the input file required for your MR analysis.

The app accepts:

  • .csv files
  • .tsv files

The maximum upload size is 2 MB.

Ensure that your file follows the required input format for the MR workflow before launch. Refer to the MR input template or data-specification guidance where available.

Name your job

Enter a descriptive name in the Prefix field. This is required.

[Screenshot 1: Red box around the Prefix field.]

For example:

  • BMI_to_CAD_MR
  • LDL_to_CHD_analysis
  • ProteinX_T2D_MR

A clear prefix makes it easier to locate the job and its outputs later.

Select a project

Choose the destination project in the project_id dropdown. This is required.

The MR job and output files will be saved to the selected project.

If necessary, create a project in Research Hub → Projects before launching the app.

Add the MR input file

Provide the required input file in the upload section.

You can add a file in three ways:

  • Upload New — Upload a .csv or .tsv file from your computer.
  • Select Existing — Choose an eligible file already stored in the portal.
  • From Jobs Output — Use a file created by a previous Sequoia job.

Launch the app

Review the job prefix, selected project, and uploaded input file. Then select Launch App.

When the analysis is complete, access the output from the selected project or the job results area.

Tips

  • Use a clear prefix that identifies the exposure, outcome, and analysis version.
  • Confirm that your input file uses the correct template and contains all required fields before upload.
  • Ensure that the selected project is appropriate for the data and analysis.
  • If the job does not start or complete as expected, review the file format, file size, and job messages in the results area.
